Rapper Ludacris is teaming up with DoSomething.org and Better World Books for a massive book drive that was properly named Epic Book Drive for the Recovery School District in New Orleans. Ludacris made the announcement earlier this year that he wanted to help bring new textbooks to the town that is still recovering even 6 years after Hurricane Katrina. Ludacris’ Epic Book Drive brought in 250,000 new books for 30,000 students. 100,000 students were brought in to help restock the 69 school libraries within Recovery School District. You will find the official press release down below. Ludacris has been involved with education based charities previously, but this appears to be his biggest one to date. As a rapper who has influence on thousands of kids, it is fabulous that he has been using his power for the greater good. To help bring books to those in need might be one of his best career highlights, even if it does not really count as his career.
