ASHEVILLE — DoSomething.org and Staples are teaming up for the second annual national Do Something 101 school supply drive.
New school supplies may be bought at or brought to the 65 Merrimon Ave. Staples store now through Sept. 19. The store is also collecting cash donations in increments of $1 from generous customers at checkout. The Waynesville Staples, at 89 Russ Ave., is also collecting supplies and donations.
All proceeds and school supplies collected will be donated to needy students in Western North Carolina through the Salvation Army's Boys and Girls Clubs and the Cherokee Youth Center.
Asheville-area teens who want to get involved can go to www.DoSomething101.org for ideas on how to run local school supply drives.
