Celebrity blogger Jared Eng from JustJared.com teamed up with JewelMint to inspire young people to get involved in their communities. As part of JewelMint’s Giving Back series, 50% of the proceeds from Jared’s favorite JewelMint piece, the Brixton Earrings, went to DoSomething.org. As one of the largest organizations in the United States, DoSomething.org uses the power of the Internet and pop culture to inspire the next generation to make a difference. Thanks to our loyal JewelMint supporters, dreams became reality! Thanks to Jared and JewelMint’s efforts, 5 teens are making a huge impact in their communities through the Summer Jobless Grants program, made possible by the proceeds collected from the Brixton Earrings! Jared chose Alex Epstein, Megan Reddell, Brenda Escutia, Marisa Schreiber and Kevin Ji, for their impeccable work ethic and determination to better their community. Grants received cover all volunteer cost so these teens can focus on the real issues. From helping homeless youth to hosting a healthy living festival, these teens are spreading the message of DoSomething.org. Grand prize winner Alex Epstein’s project works to improve poverty stricken communities in Philadelphia and New Orleans through urban farming!
