Lufkin Middle School students donated more than 800 pairs of jeans to the international Haiti relief effort as well as $600 to the American Red Cross on Wednesday.
A student-driven effort led by eighth grader Kyree Anderson and the student council, students recognized the extraordinary need while watching Channel One, an educational news program.
