School briefs: Teens encouraged to 'do something'

MANSFIELD -- DoSomething.org and Staples are teaming up for the second annual national Do Something 101 school supply drive with Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, Ciara.

Mansfield-area teens are invited to collect school supplies and drop them off at their nearest Staples store between now and Sept. 19. Staples customers can get involved by donating $1 at the store at 542 Lexington Springmill Road North. All of the proceeds and school supplies will be given to Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Central Ohio.

Mansfield-area teens who want to get involved can go to www.DoSomething101.org for ideas on how to run local school supply drives. Whether holding a school supply drive at summer camp, during a summer sports league, or at a neighborhood block party, DoSomething.org and Staples offer tips, resources, and flyers for how to get started.

DoSomething.org believes teens have the power to make a difference encourages them to take action in their own communities.
