Office Depot (NYSE: ODP), a leading global provider of office and school supplies, today announced its sponsorship of the 2012 Do Something Awards, which will air Tuesday, August 21 at 9:00pm ET on VH1.
Hosted by the hilarious New Girl stars Jake Johnson, Emmy-nominated Max Greenfield and Lamorne Morris, the ceremony will honor and celebrate the nation’s best young world-changers who represent the pivotal “do-ers” in their field, cause or issue.
This event further signifies Office Depot’s commitment to spreading a message of kindness and helping to put an end to cruelty and bullying in schools through the Company’s partnership with Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation.
To help spread this message, Office Depot and Born This Way Foundation have created several special, limited-edition products for back-to-school this year.
Custom products include empowerment gift cards (with a face value of $20), with one of six messages on the front: “Be Brave,” “Be Amazing,” “Be Yourself,” “Be Kind,” “Be Accepting,” and “Be Involved.” Parents, students, and teachers can use the $20 gift card to purchase incredible back-to-school essentials at Office Depot, and afterwards can proudly clip their cards to their backpack or belt loop showing their support of the movement.
Also available are limited-edition “Kindness Sticks” Post-It® Notes, limited-edition Sharpie® pens, and unique “Bravery Bracelets,” each of which feature Born This Way Foundation’s logo, as well as the same six messages of empowerment as the gift cards.
