The Vampire Diaries Ian Somerhalder (Damon) is up for a VH1 Do Something Award, and we couldn’t think of a more perfectly named award for this world-changing philanthropist. The TVD star is, of course, the founder of the Ian Somerhalder Foundation, an environmental and animal rights organization dedicated to making our planet better. Right now, the foundation is working to conserve 300 acres of forest and circulating a petition to protect sled dogs. Clearly, Ian Somerhalder and his foundation are doing something. A lot of somethings. Somerhalder is nominated in the actor category alongside starlets Demi Lovato and AnnaLynne McCord, among others.
