Youth and activism has such a beautiful ring, doesn’t it? With man-made and natural disasters and constant “breaking news” of young starlets going to jail (which makes me wonder if mainstream news is officially broken) flooding the airwaves, the need to recognize and celebrate young change makers is more important than ever. As luck would have it, DoSomething.org, one of the largest organizations in the U.S. to support our young generation of do-gooders, is breaking down the walls and doing just that.
On July 19th, we covered the red carpet arrivals of the first Do Something Awards ceremony that aired live on Vh-1. From Alyssa Milano to Snoop Dogg to Leroy Stick (the man behind @BPGlobalPR), activists and celebrities gathered at the Hollywood Palladium to honor some of the most inspirational and mobilizing young people, 25 and under, to dive into social action.
