Wilmington’s Mark Rembert, co-founder of Energize Clinton County, is one of five grant-winning finalists for a 2010 Do Something Award, which honors young Americans for their commitment to service and social change.
As a finalist, Energize Clinton County receives a $10,000 community grant. From among the final five nominees, a grand prize winner will receive a $100,000 grant for their cause during a live telecast from the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on July 19.
On Friday evening at the Banana Split Festival, Rembert said the honor is as much a reflection upon the community as it is upon Energize Clinton County.
The 9 p.m. (EST) July 19 telecast on VH1 is expected to have three- to five-minute segments on each of the finalists’ programs or organizations.
