Position Available: CFO

Responsibilities:
Do Something’s CFO will be part of the leadership team here and have several fundamental areas of responsibility:
- Day to day bookkeeping including accounts payable, check writing, deposits, collecting receivables, and reconciliation.
- Responsibility for creation of annual budget.
- Oversight of all expenses.
- Responsibility for all legal filings including state forms, 990, etc.
- Responsibility for month end and year end closes.
- Generating monthly reports for CEO and Board of Directors.
- Leadership of the quarterly for Finance & Development Committee.
- Management of human resource basics including payroll and other benefits.
- Oversight of annual audit.
- Prepare ad hoc reports for CEO, Board, and sponsors.
- Human resources.
- Some general office management including oversight of the Office Manager, relationship with the building and physical space, etc.
Experience & Skills:
- 4+ years financial management experience.
- Extensive not-for-profit experience (including knowledge of the new form 990).
- Extremely organized.
- Familiar with allocation accounting.
- Passion for making the world a better place.
- Outgoing personality.
- Love of pop culture and the power of young people.
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

Position Available: Business Development & Campaigns Associate

The Business Development Associate will work on our national cause campaigns including: brainstorming initial ideas, securing the appropriate sponsors, managing the execution of the partnership and ensuring that teens nationwide are taking action and making an impact.
Responsibilities:
- Corporate fundraising: Coming up with new ideas for campaigns, cold-calling sponsors, delivering pitch presentations, managing sponsor relationships
- Execution of national campaigns: brainstorming your own fun action ideas for teens, managing all moving parts of a campaign, working on marketing plan, measuring the impact, etc.
- Teens for Jeans: Involvement with Do Something’s national jeans drive in conjunction with Aero. Helping with PR and marketing strategy, managing the in-school involvement and ensuring that thousands of teens participate
- Video Games: Management of Do Something’s video games for social change section, including overseeing the development of new games. Ensuring that all games lead to meaningful offline action (no video game experience necessary, just a creative mind and good organizational skills)
- Work with Chief Marketing Officer and marketing team on execution of all existing and future campaigns including Do Something’s animal welfare program, Do Something 101 School Supply Drive, healthy schools initiative, dating abuse campaign, etc.
Additional Qualifications:
- An outgoing and enthusiastic personality is a must. If your friends wouldn’t describe you as energetic, this is not the job for you.
- Seriously self-driven and determined to reach goals. You are ambitious. You don’t settle. And can think creatively on the spot.
- Extremely well organized multi-tasker—without stressing out. Do Something is super fun and fast-paced, and that means you need to be able to react and execute quickly
- Excellent communication skills: ability to convey message clearly, solid command of rules of grammar, but understand what it means to be on-brand with Do Something (i.e. you are comfortable using the phrase “rock your cause” in a business presentation.)
- Comfortable working with very important people—you don’t get intimidated. You know when to talk and when to listen.
- Passion for what we do, concern for the world, commitment to social change.
- Ability to be a self-starter with creative initiative, but a healthy respect for deadlines, responsibility, working in teams, and taking direction.
- Knowledge of pop culture and teen trends of the moment
- College degree or equivalent.

Compensation:
- $36k and benefits. 3 weeks vacation plus the week between Christmas and New Years, offices on Union Square, fun small office environment, and occasional brownie bake-offs. Plus, you don’t have to come to work on your birthday, but we’ll probably bake you cookies if you do.
