  1. Will you be my volunteer? Ask someone to be your volunteer buddy for Valentine's Day this year! Check out our database or text Do Something to 38383 for volunteering opportunities in your area.
  2. Deliver the love. Make someone's day by delivering homemade Valentine’s Day cards to nursing homes, homeless shelters, hospitals, or domestic violence shelters. Call ahead to arrange a time to come by.
  3. Adopt a pet for the day. Volunteer at your local animal shelter for a day or offer to walk pets in your neighborhood.
  4. Send love letters to the troops. The troops could use some love this holiday since they're away from their loved ones. Let them know that you’re thinking of them and appreciate them and send them a care package.
  5. Spread the love. Remember those in your community who help you on a daily basis. Give a thank you Valentine to your garbage man, bus driver, cafeteria workers or teachers.
  6. Teach the love. Ask your school if you can do an activity with younger students. Cookie decorating or making Valentines out of recycled paper are good activities to get you started.
  7. Promote love of all kinds. If your cause is gay rights, today is a good day to raise awareness about gay marriage and what you can do to change laws in certain states.
  8. Get crafty. Plant valentines that will bring you joy right on into the spring. People will be super impressed; plus it will beautify your yard, neighborhood, or school yard in the spring.
  9. Party on. Throw a Valentine’s Day party and raise money for your organization or favorite cause.
  10. Get active. Host a Valentine’s Day Field Day at your school. Teams can be boys versus girls or mixed for some Valentine’s Day twist!
