Bring the frightening facts of HIV/AIDS to your school
Create a chart of how many people are infected everyday in the U.S. Display the frightening statistics, including:
- Number of people living with HIV/AIDS: 1.1 million, including more than 468,000 with AIDS
- Number of AIDS deaths since beginning of epidemic: 583,298, including 14,561 in 2007
- Percept of people infected with HIV who don't know it: 21%
- In 2006, black women accounted for the largest share of new HIV infections among women -- a whopping 61%.
