Whether or not you support their mission, we all support the men and women in our armed forces. Show your support by writing them a letter or sending an email--it's super easy to show a soldier some love, here's how:
Send a soldier (or two) your support by thanking them for their service. Feel free to include a few details about your background if you're comfortable doing so. Try to stay away from politics and keep it simple, the more positive the better! To get an idea of what to say, check out these sample letters.
Add a personal touch by making your own card or including photos of your town, school, or family. Feel free to include your name and contact info if you're comfortable--often times a letter exchange with the soldier will go both ways! A few guidelines before you go overboard though:
If you've written more than one letter, do not put each of them in individual envelopes. Bundle them into a packet, because all letters will be screened for security reasons. If you're mailing them in bulk (from kids at school or in your community), bundle them into groups of 100.
Find a drop-off location or create your own if you're interested in starting a letter-writing drive at your school.
If there is no drop-off spot near you or don't want to drop your letters off, you can simply mail them to:
You can recruit some friends and get together after school or on the weekends to write and decorate letters and cards to the troops, or start you own collection drive at school or in local businesses around town.
You can still send your best to the troops abroad! A quick and easy email will do the trick.
people have done this…

The problem we are trying to solve is the troops...

somepeople think that soldiers are just people fighting in wars but their not they are very important and some people dont get that.
i agree with babynowlin25. a job like that isn't easy. in fact, it's nowhere near easy. why?
cause you have to leave your family at home and risk your life just to protect people whom you don't even know.
the least we could do is to show that we somehow care.
I will write to some soldiers & mail them a card
or letter to let them know that we support them & that we are thinking about them.
I'm sad that you have to be at least 18..I'm 17 :/
Soo cool!
Know lots of people who have served in Iraq.
I want to get all my friends to come over and we can decorate Holiday cards, like a party.
It is a hard job, and every person who puts their life on the line like that should be thanked, for the war or not.
I currently have 3 friends fighting in Afghanistan and I'm enlisting after college, so I'm really glad to hear about this project. I'll organize an event at my University to get students to write to the soldiers.
I've been wanting to do something like this with my Pathfinder Club at my church. Now that I know of this opportunity I can let them know! Wonderful idea!
I think this is a awesome idea!My brother just got back from Iraq, and the things that he told me really pulled at my heart. We have no idea what these men and women go through over there. We need to let them know that they are loved(im sure they know it:))and that we are praying for
them.I'm going to tell everyone i know about this.
I just wanted to put out there that there is a website that its really cool. Its called ANYSOLDIER.com. And it connects people to our service men and women who have signed up for the website and some ask for just letter and some ask for things that they can not get where they are stationed. I have used this site and have sent out care packages and I just wanted to spread the word so our soldiers can re connect with people at home.
I'm doing this with my best friends. We already started making cards & tomorrow we're asking the principal for permission to allow us to have a drive at school to make cards for it. These troops have done so much for us & this is honestly the least we can do, just thank them. They deserve something for all of their hard work. (:
when does this end?
i want to start this in my school after our christmas break.
so exactly when does it start and when does it end?
i am starting a do somthing club at my school and this will defonitialy be done during one of the mettings.
For those who don't support our troops, my head is down and I shall not salute you, its just that you may need to support the troops no matter what there decision is you have to look in there perspective and think they are fighting for your country your safe and you get to sleep in your own bed. They sleep on watever and they are never safe. They risk there lives for so many! If they weren't brave enough to go then this country would be shot to hell and who else would have done it some of us don't even have the balls to step out of our own damn homes to do shit about what this country is going through! So for those who support I salute you, for those who don't I shame you!
Im Doing this! I already wrote 5 letters myself and im writing more :D I accidentally put the first 5 in their own envolopes though :/ but im also doing this with my highschool, the middle town, my rec center, my old elementary school, my sister town elementary school and their library and rec center :D Hopfully i get alot of letters and cards!
this is such a great idea!!! im going to get involved and get my schools to give their support! those soldiers out there are so brave and the least we can do is show them that we havent forgotten them. they deserve alot more because they are the ones risking their lives every single day not us. This is a great way to show them that we care and love them
I love this! It's such a simple and fun way to do something nice for someone else! =D Plus it's fun to talk about yourself and have somebody listen!
how do we address the letter? like who do we say it is to?
cool a few years ago we did something like this in girl scouts
im going to do it again
I'm really excited to get involved in this. Our troops don't get enough appreciation for what they do. I'm planning on competing for Teen Miss MA, and my spokes-model speech is all about this. I'm hoping to collect letters at my pageant and send them out. The best way to show our gratitude? Thank you notes. :)
I have already send my support letter to all the solders for their effort to save the world from dilemma.
I will have my girl scout troop begin writing letters and coloring and drawing pictures (as they are only 6-7 yrs old)for Valentines Day and we will make it part of our routine for every holiday. I have 15 girls in our troop and we are going to set up a table during our cookie booths to allow people to write letters that we will send out. We are also going to have a box for anyone who would like to donate girl scout cookies to the military- are we able to send the cookies to the same address? Thanks
Thanks for this website...
I what do say thanks to all of the us army people for what you guys are doing
I what to send letters to the army people but idk how can you guys help me
I want to write letters to soldiers! I don't know if I can recruit others to join me, but I definitely want to do it! :)
I've already sent some postcards and this week i plan on having my friends and family help me write letter to support these guys. it's a brave thing to put your life on the line like that and i respect them a lot for it
I'm doing a personal project for school and sending letters to troops will really help my little town get an inside look at what is going on and how people are dealing with fighting. My tiny school needs a reality check and that is what my personal project is. Also so that soldiers that don't get anything will have somethingnif you know what I mean.
How old do you have to be to participate in this? Also, where do you send the emails to?
