Action Tips: Play a Part in the Search for an HIV Vaccine

To end AIDS, the world needs prevention, care, treatment, and a vaccine. With over 40 million people living with HIV around the world (1.1 million here in the U.S.), and over 20 million lives already lost, the need for an HIV vaccine is more urgent than ever. There is still a great deal of public misunderstanding about HIV vaccine research. The success of vaccine trials depends on the trust, support, and participation of all communities.

Play a part in the search for an HIV vaccine by educating yourself and others about HIV vaccine research. Check out “Be the Generation” for Facts about HIV Vaccine Research.

AIDS is certainly an epidemic. For the most part it is easy to keep from contracting it, unless you were born with it. I witnessed a young child of two months dieing of AIDS. Her mother gave her to the Orphanage so she could be safe and get the help she needed. She already had the tall tail signs that the virus had taken effect, but she seemed so brave. Looking around and awake so early ready to start the day waiting for her turn to be fed and rocked.
She's the reason I'm fighting for the AIDS vaccine so children like her can have hope and survive, so they have a chance.
