Support the Global Child Survival Act

Lobby members of Congress to support the Global Child Survival Act.

This legislation would invest in proven, low-cost, highly effective life-saving interventions such as immunizations, antibiotics, clean drinking water and vitamin supplements. It also requires the U.S. to develop a comprehensive strategy for improving child and maternal health, and increases funding for child survival and maternal health programs to help save the lives tens of thousands of newborns, children and mothers. Ask your congressman to help us deploy affordable life-saving technology by co-sponsoring this important legislation.

It’s good to see vitamins mentioned on that list. Most people assume it is just medicine and food/water that is needed but children need to be able to maintain healthy bodies. I can only hope this legalisation will make a difference. The government needs to start caring about saving people all over the world, not money or war.

I agree. War just hurts people and economies and potentially creates more hunger and poverty. The meds would be helpful in just about any 3rd world country. They definitely make a difference.

I believe that people should stop blaming the government, even though they owe much responsibility to this matter, and start making the changes themselves. As the great Michael Jackson stated, "If you wanna make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and then make the change.".

People should take that line from "Man in the Mirror" and put it into action. We shouldn't complain about the unfairness and poverty in the world and then go out and buy a laptop or IPhone. We should stop complaining and really do something.

Just like us, the government is made of single individuals who have the same amount of power as us to make a difference. We must take a look at ourselves and then make the change.

Ok, obviously you are a Michael Jackson fan, and now that he is gone you are using him as an example. And that is great. But i think that if your going to make a difference, you should get help from the government and congressmen, but not blame it on them.
