Leukemia & Lymphoma Cancer. We have become aware of how devasting these cancers are. Andrew the Child of the Year attended our Big Shots event and Ms. Rost who is running for the LLS woman of the Year and they provided us with the information about this probelem. Funding is desperately needed and a local student also has this cancer.

We planned another successful fun basketball event for teens held on April 24th, 2010 at Loudoun Valley High School from 5 to 10pm. The event was FREE. We had great basketball competition, a live DJ, electronic gaming by C3, a celebrity speaker, and guest performances.

We are trying to inspire safe driving amongst teenagers by encouraging teens to not text while driving.

We have expanded our network to have clubs at 3 more schools, reaching out to middle school teens to help provide information and volunteer opportunities for civic engagement

We have discovered that teens do not always know how to find volunteer opportunities and know about local volunteer programs, so our club will solve this problem by forming a partnership between us,Loudoun Do Something Now ,Volunteer Loudoun a government/non-profit volunteer service ,and our Loudoun Valley High School by the Creation of a Student Volunteer Team-SVT

To do random acts of kindness without reward or recognition. During the traditional Valentines week, we want to put the focus on unconditional love/kindness heart 2 heart versus the romantic only connections. Also to make sure we reach out to students with special needs

Big shots fulfilled Loudoun's need for a fun basketball tournament event. The first annual Big Shots 3-on-3 basketball tournament was held on April 18, 2009 from 5-10pm at Loudoun Valley High School in Purcellville, VA and is an annual tournament.

We participated in a food drive for Make a difference day through our schools and Volunteer Loudoun. Now we are continuing it to help a brand new food bank, Tree of Life, that opened due to increased needs. They really need our help and resources.

We are trying to raise funds for our club to finance our civic projects like teen substance abuse, special neeeds, poverty and hunger. We are also promoting volunteerism for all ages to meet the many needs in our community.

We Participated in our town historical event with a booth to recruit teens to meet a variety of issues and needs throughout the community. Teens can sometimes get into trouble and we feel volunteering is a good safe alternative and it is so needed to help others.

DSNOW is joining in on a countywide campaign through Holiday Coalition to provide gifts to needy families.We learned that the teens are inadvertently often left out with the gift selections.
