Description

Volunteer crisis line advocates take one 6 hour shift per week on the international toll free domestic violence crisis line. We operate a remote access system so volunteers are able to answer the crisis line from their homes or cell phones anywhere in the USA.

The next training takes place in Portland, Oregon on September 12 and September 13.

Skills

If you have previous experience working in a domestic violence shelter or on a crisis line, you would not be required to attend all components of the training. International topics are mandatory. We are looking for people who are compelled by our mission and who understand the dynamics of domestic violence and child abuse. No victim blaming please. International travel or experience living in foreign countries desired but not required. Additional languages beyond English may be helpful when accessing resouces overseas, but are not required.
