Description

A co-initiative of GVN and GVN-Foundation, the Eat So They Can global fundraiser raises money for the African Children's Fund which is distributed between our partners we work alongside in Africa. So what better way to experience first hand where the money raised from these events is sent than to volunteer with one of our partners in a Global Volunteer Network program.

Global Volunteer Network currently have opportunities in Ethiopia where volunteers will assist our partner organisation's mission to rescue children off the streets and give them a better life. Volunteers will be involved in tutoring children after school with a focus on conversational English, grammar, science, and mathematics.

Skills

As a volunteer in Ethiopia you must: * be between 18 and 59 years of age * have no major health problems * have some skills in special education, music, computers, administration, or grant writing Volunteers need to be able to develop new and creative projects, as well as techniques for instructing children with special needs. In addition, volunteers will work in staff development, finance and accounting, computer training, and/or grant writing. Please note that this project requires volunteers who are self-starters, who can take part in a flexible schedule, and who can work with minimal supervision.
