Description

Location(s)

A co-initiative of GVN and GVN-Foundation, the Eat So They Can global fundraiser raises money for the African Children's Fund which is distributed between our partners we work alongside in Africa. So what better way to experience first hand where the money raised from these events is sent than to volunteer with one of our partners in a GVN program.

GVN volunteers in Uganda have a variety of options ranging from teaching arts and crafts to children in a local village to assisting with HIV prevention through a community outreach program. Most projects have little or no resources, so foreign volunteers with different ideas and experiences are highly valued.

Skills

Volunteers for the Uganda program must: * be 18 years or older * have no major health problems * be able to walk distances up to 5km daily * obtain a police check from your home country prior to volunteering * sign a general waiver of liability * have a positive and outgoing personality All projects require volunteers who are self-starters and can conduct their daily activities with minimal supervision.
