Description
In Quechua, a "minga" is the coming together of a community to work for the betterment of all. The nonprofit organization Minga is based on this idea of local communities working together to end the prostitution and sex trafficking of children around the world.
What can YOUth do? Start a Minga Club in your school, community, place of worship, or elsewhere! You can fundraise, educate your local community in creative ways, and join Minga's growing community of youth and adults working to end the global sex trade of children by participating in one (or more!) of our campaigns. Currently, Minga clubs everywhere from Los Angeles to Hong Kong to Toronto to Milwaukee are organizing Don't Pimp My Ride car washes, to raise awareness about the alternative meaning of the word "pimp"- a vendor of children who profits from their exploitation- and to raise funds for further education campaigns. Visit www.mingagroup.org to learn more.
All you need is passion, energy, a few friends, and a bit of time!
