How did you spread the word about your Battle of the Bands video? Facebook, myspace, email, fliers posted in the club and given out to parents and visitors

Did you use social media to get more eyes on your video? How? Lots of the Club staff, members and parents posted it to their facebook & myspace pages and emailed it to everyone.

Why is music education important to you? Hi I'm Ashley and I love to sing, music helps me feel my emotions. I will be graduating this year and although my schools music program got cut a while back I had it most of my school years. But the effort to keep Music Ed in school...or bring it back, is most important to me because I want my little brother and sister to have the same opportunities I had. Hi this is Alexander, I'd say music ed is important me because I don't really like school but music class is what makes happy. Music is a way of communication. It just makes me happy! Hi I'm AJ, one of the rappers on our video, because my little brother is still in school too. Music is a part of my life, it has gotten me though some tough times. Music and the B&G Club got me through my mom sudden passing. The others in our group just love music!

Tell us more about the group or type of musical performance in your video: All of the kids in the group are members of the Club. Club staff helped us get it together when we told them we wanted to enter. We have so many kids that are interested in music in one way or another. We played the music, wrote the song, recorded it and made the video. Two companies donated all of their time and efforts to make this possible. We had SO MUCH FUN!

Anything else we should know about your Battle of the Bands video project? S-L-O Recording Studio is the company that helped us record our song and now they are donating one recording session per month for our Club because they had so much fun with us. So cool! Having a professional film crew donating their time was soooo cool. It really made us feel like stars!
