How did you spread the word about your Battle of the Bands video? I started spreading the word about the 'battle of the bands' contest immediately after signing up. Since I involved a great portion of my school in the music video, other students have also been helping spread the word about the cause, and how winning the contest might be great exposure for our school and for our small music department.
Did you use social media to get more eyes on your video? How? I am using Facebook, YouTube and Schooltube to help share the video. Also my school's website and alumni Facebook page.
Why is music education important to you? Music education is important because education is something that runs on air and music helps it flow. Music is what drives us to do things and taking that away, the ability to imagine things really is not a good thing. Music teaches us discipline and trains are thoughts on how we act, however the types of music we listen to can give us the negative or positives, I chose the positive side as I fell there's still a chance for us to save the world. Music is my outlet to the world as sports is not my thing, music helps us get our expressions out and really shapes our minds as we see it in our society. This is why music should be kept in school.
Tell us more about the group or type of musical performance in your video: The video features the Viking Band, members of choir and shots of pretty much the entire school. We have the traditional rock band style preformance, band members out front, our fans (the school) going crazy and just really enjoying it all from their seats.
Anything else we should know about your Battle of the Bands video project? The song was performed/recorded by my school band and the video was shot by my TV production class. Thanks to everyone for their help with the video.
