7 Alternative Spring Break Ideas

Spring break is a great way to relieve unwanted school stress. But instead of choosing spring break destinations on the beach or in your house, give back at these places.

  1. Clean local beaches. Instead of tanning on the beach and turning the same color as a Jersey Shore cast member, help keep beaches clean by picking up garbage and separating it.
  2. Plant a garden. Instead of chowing on greasy midnight snacks all day on your couch, plant a vegetable garden.
  3. Rebuild a home. Instead of hitting the slopes with friends, hit a nail with a hammer and help rebuild homes.
  4. Volunteer at a soup kitchen. Why eat up all of the cup of noodles in your house when you could serve soup at a local soup kitchen?
  5. Donate. Instead of cramming yourself in a gross motel room with your friends, cram books, food, and clothes in boxes to donate.
  6. Lend a hand at an animal shelter. Don’t travel all the way to Florida or Cancun when you can spend your vacation at an animal shelter. It may not sound as fun, but it will defiantly be worth it once you see the look on those adorable faces.
  7. Run a collection drive. Instead of running to spike a volleyball, run a collection drive.
