Betty White celebrated her 90th birthday yesterday surrounded by friends and good memories as NBC threw the Hot in Cleveland star an unforgettable birthday bash. In celebration of her birthday, here are 90 reasons why we love Betty White!
- She is an honorary park ranger. Known for her endless animal and environmental activism, Betty was made Park Ranger by the U.S. Forest Service. Although she always considered herself a park ranger, it was made official when Betty was presented with an actual ranger badge and Stetson hat.
- She can dance. In "The Proposal," a comedy starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds, Betty White played Ryan’s crazy grandmother. Dressed in Native American apparel, Betty shows off her dancing and singing skills by dancing to “Get Low.”
- She can’t get enough of animals. In November, Betty displayed her creativity by designing a ceramic dog bowl for the online charity, Bowl Project 2011. The proceedings from the sales benefited PAWS/LA to help people suffering from poverty and illness care for their pets.
- She was in a hysterical "Clueless" parody. In 1996, Betty made fun of one of our favorite films during the MTV Movie Awards by playing Dionne in what we think is one of her most hysterical performances.
- She raises awareness through her comedy. Betty was featured in a hilarious video for the Morris Animal Foundation’s, cancer research campaign to help spread awareness of canine health. Watch what Betty is willing to do to have her dog featured in their upcoming campaign.
- She is our favorite rapper. Betty was featured in Luciana Caporaso’s music video “I’m Still Hot.” Surrounded by muscular men, Betty rapped to the lyrics, “I’m smokin hot in the world, I’m still a golden girl, I may be a senior so what, I’m still hot.”
- She donates her time to the Red Cross. Betty White joined the American Red Cross Celebrity Cabinet because of her work with the Red Cross foundation by helping others prepare for emergencies, helping those affected by disasters and more.
- She is a true Golden Girl. Betty’s unforgettable performance as the ditzy Rose in the "Golden Girls" did not go unnoticed. The Golden Girls star was honored with six Emmy’s for her performance.
- She always leaves us laughing. Numbers 9-90 are dedicated to over the 90 times Betty has appeared in humorous television shows, commercials, campaigns and movies. Whenever we see her adorable face we are reminded of all the times she has put a smile on ours.
Happy Birthday Betty!
