Last night was the most important, celeb-tastic event of the year: The Do Something Awards! It was Do Something’s "Sweet Sixteen" event at the Apollo theater in Harlem and CGG was there to capture all the action--from the red carpet to backstage.

The Do Something finalists got their awards presented to them from all the top names and our star host for the night, Corbin Bleu, was there to make it all happen. Amber Tamblyn and Lil Mama presented to Marvelyn, Nick Cannon and MTV’s Sway presented to Darius, Lauren Bush and Ugly Betty's Mark Indelicato presented to Eric, Russell Simmons presented to David, and Do Something CEO Nancy Lublin and VH1 President Tom Calderone presented to the Grand Prize winner, Maggie!

We caught up with all the stars on the red carpet before the show, including our CGG award winner and Civic Leader of the Year, Usher. And he wasn't alone! He brought two kids from his "Camp New Look" who told us what its like to have Usher as your personal mentor.

The Boston band Boys like Girls gave an awesome show and even sang an extra song! But Akon may have stolen the show with his out of this world performance of his two hits "Beautiful," and "Right Now Na Na Na Na." He got the entire audience out of their seats and down by the stage. He even dove off the stage into the audience! We saw him fly over the award winner’s heads. Wow!

Some awesome CGG celebs also gave shout outs at last night's awards (video below) like Jesse McCartney, the JoBros, and more! Tell us what you think about the show, the performers and the winners! Don't forget to check back later for footage from the red carpet. Comment below!
