On last week’s American Idol, the talented Alicia Keys reminded America to think about others around the world between watching and voting for this country’s next big thing.

And you don’t even have to leave you couch to give back, Alicia says. You just have to pick up your phone. She’s calling it the Text ‘ALIVE’ Challenge—just text the word ‘ALIVE’ to 90999. Five dollars will be automatically transferred from your mobile bill to Alicia’s "Keep A Child Alive" charity. KCA provides life-saving anti-retroviral treatment to those living with HIV/AIDS in the developing world.

After introducing the “ALIVE” Challenge, Alicia let 15-year old Noah Mushimiyimana take the stage and perform for America. Noah is a Rwandan rapper and a patient at a KCA clinic in Kigali, Rwanda. If you missed Idol last week do not fear! You can download Noah’s song “The World’s Greatest,” on iTunes—all proceeds go to KCA.

Tell us what you think about this new digital donating. Do you think texting and downloading is the fundraising of the future? Or should people be more active in their giving back? Comment below! And check out Noah’s performance below!
