Another video from Glee’s Jane Lynch
The actress who plays your favorite cheerleading coach-villain has churned out another video following the success of her Madonna impression and Olivia Newton John collaboration. But this time, she’s joined not by humans, but by dogs! Jane Lynch is yet another Glee cast member who is backing PETA, and has recorded a witty PSA on a serious subject: spaying and neutering your dog or cat.
Lynch, who says she’s become a better person because of her love for animals, stresses the importance of spaying and neutering pets, especially because of the animal overpopulation crisis. Fact: over 8 million animals are put into shelters every year. About half of them are euthanized because there are not enough homes adopting. Lynch says, “It’s a terrible thing to come into this world only to be, you know, taken out prematurely.”
The actress better known to Gleeks as Sue Sylvester is working with PETA to educate the many people who have the misconception that spaying and neutering their pets is expensive and troublesome. Contrary to this belief, many shelters and organizations (including PETA’s SNIP program) across the country offer low-cost sterilization services—and sometimes even free.
