Patrice Motsepe, Dr. Precious Moloi-Motsepe, Brett Ratner, Chrisy Turlington-

Burns, Danny Simmons, Ed Clark, and Russell Simmons on the violet carpet.

The fabulous Russell Simmons opened up his Hamptons estate to a fabulous crowd of art-lovers, sports heroes, musicians, and more at the 9th annual Art for Life benefit. The gala benefited the Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation, which was founded by the Simmons’ brothers, Russell, Danny, and Joseph "Rev Run.” The trio created the foundation to provide disadvantaged urban youth with significant exposure and access to the arts, as well as providing exhibition opportunities to under-represented artists and artists of color. The event raised a record $1.5 million Saturday night in support of providing arts education to NYC youth who need it.

Celebrities, socialites, and entertainers were all in attendance to put their money to a good use. NY governor David Patterson, Aretha Franklin, P. Diddy, flawless Christy Turlington Burns and hubby Ed Burns, as well as Grant Hill and wife Tamia, Gayle King, Top Chef’s Padma Lakshmi and more came out to pay tribute to the arts in education.
