Ashley for Africa

via PSI

While most celebs use the summer to VACAY, either avoiding or welcoming the paps in their hot beach bikinis, not all of them are just out for some sun and sand. The gorgeous and talented Ashley Judd headed to the Democratic Republic of the Congo with Population Services International, a nonprofit that addresses health problems in developing countries.

Ashley, who is a global ambassador for PSI, spent seven days in the Congo with their partner program Five & Alive, which aims to improve the life of children five and under. She saw firsthand the issues that are affecting the country such as family planning, malaria, HIV and safe water activities. Ashley said in an interview with CNN, “together, we can ensure that mothers in Africa no longer have to worry whether their children will reach the age of five. Together, we can give the gift of growing up.”

Shes a talented actress, wife, and dedicated humanitarian. What’s next? Blogger?

The lovely Ashley even documented her trip online. Check it out!
