Audrina takes it off for PETA

Audrina Patridge has gone from The Hills to the clouds in this new PETA ad for their “Angel for Animals” campaign. The reality TV star has slipped on her wings (and not much else) to raise awareness about the puppy problem.

The angel ad is going to be on a billboard set to be unveiled Wednesday on L.A.'s Beverly Boulevard. Audrina poses with her rescued dog, Speedy Gonzalez, next to the line, "Be an Angel for Animals-Always Adopt, Never Buy." Most pooches you can get from a store or a breeder come from factory farms and puppy mills where inhumane methods are used to breed dogs.

In a statement released by PETA, Audrina says, "Each year, 6 to 8 million unwanted dogs and cats are turned in to shelters, and half are killed because there aren't enough good homes. The solution is as easy as ABC – animal birth control. Always spay and neuter, and never buy from a pet store or a breeder."

Audrina told JustJared that she got involved in the cause because, “a lot of people go to pet stores and breeders to buy their animals, but you should adopt, so go to an animal shelter and rescue a dog.” If you are interested in adopting an animal or helping out at a shelter, you should sign up to get Pet Care alerts from the ASPCA.

Do you think Audrina is a good face for the animal rights campaign? Or will her reality star reputation make it hard to take it seriously? What do you think about PETA’s constant campaign approach of using scantily clad stars? Comment below!
