The NBA is rocking all causes this month from NBA Green Week to speaking out about cancer. Mavericks guard Jason Kidd, New York Knicks' Chris Wilcox, Boston Celtic star Paul Pierce and the Hornets' Tyson Chandler are all working to help Jasmina Anema find a bone-marrow donor.

The hard court hoopsters join celebs like Rihanna, who is also fighting to help save the six-year-old leukemia patient. Boston Celtics MVP and team captain Paul Pierce heard about Jasmina’s battle and immediately wanted to help through his Truth Foundation. The org sponsored a marrow drive that took place in Boston yesterday.

Paul Pierce is asking all African Americans to help fight for Jasmina and other African Americans in need of bone marrow. "As a father myself, it is awful to see such a little girl have to fight such a challenging disease like leukemia," said Paul. "I encourage the African American community to join the National Registry to help children like Jasmina." It is much harder for minorities to find bone marrow matches, and the more that donate samples, the better the chances are!

The other NBA ballers have swabbed and submitted their samples to see if they are a bone marrow match for Jasmina. Check out their websites for more info about Jasmina with how you can help, and a list of blood and marrow drives around America.

Chris Wilcox visited Jasmina in the hospital with a stuffed animal to cheer her up, saying, “I just can’t bear to see a six year old who literally could die if we don’t find her a match soon.” He also held a Bone Marrow Donor Drive in March.

So far, their efforts have been a slam-dunk. Around 1,000 people showed up March 29th at a marrow drive in Harlem. Paul's drive in Boston yesterday was also reportedly a great success!
