Ben Affleck gives hope to Eastern Congolese

Ben Affleck is taking notice of a very serious world crisis and doing something about it! Along with Warren Buffett's son Howard G. Buffett, Affleck founded the Eastern Congo Initiative to offer local solutions for some of the major challenges faced by the Congolese. The initiative will serve to provide financial support and other resources to existing local organizations who have been most successful in aiding the Eastern Congolese people.

“The situation in eastern Congo has been neglected for far too long – it is one of the worst humanitarian tragedies in the world,” Affleck said in a statement, “Right now, the attention paid to this crisis doesn’t match the needs of those affected by it. We will raise that attention level, and work with the extraordinary Congolese people who are making a positive difference in their own communities.”
