Oscar-winner Ben Affleck is turning his attention from statues to kids. The actor made another of many to Africa a few months ago as an ambassador for OneXOne, a Canadian not-for-profit that has raised over $7.2 million for impoverished children around the world. Ben spoke at an event for them in Canada on Saturday about his experiences during the trip, including meeting child soldiers and kids afflicted with Polio, a disease that still wracks developing countries. He said, "[It made me realize] how little I had done in my life. How shallow I had been in my own pursuits." Uh... We don't think an Oscar's too shabby, but hey, man, high expectations.

Ben looks so content in this picture. It made me realize I can never say I am too busy. There is so much going on that we don't hear about. Thanks to Ben for taking the time to bring this subject to our attention.
that it takes the face of a star for people to start paying attention to what's going on in the world outside the U.S. ... but if it works, I'm all for it! Thanks Ben for using your clout for an important cause!
who needs an oscar when you can change a life?
