Britney shines in the Bronx

Gimme Gimme More, Britney!!

Britney Spears has been happily hopping all around Manhattan this week, and her latest pit-stop yesterday was at a very unsuspecting school!

Ms. Spears dropped in to the Bronx’s PS 142 to grant them a $10,000 check donated in her name by Elizabeth Arden (the cosmetics brand behind her perfume line) to further the school’s year-old music program.

Upon entering the school, Britney was welcomed to a performance by the John Philip Sousa Middle School’s eight-piece band, the Sousatones.

“You’ll be the first people I call,” Britney told the band’s director regarding her next opening act for her planned 2009 tour!

Following the band’s warm greeting, Britney was also serenaded by a seven-girl chorus that sang “I Am Woman.”

“I really enjoyed the time I spent at the John Philip Sousa Middle School,” Spears told People. “I’ve been working with the people at Elizabeth Arden for the last five years, and I know how passionate everyone is about the school. I loved hearing the school orchestra and the children sang so beautifully. The fact that Elizabeth Arden made such a large donation for the school music studio in my name was so generous.”

We love the new efforts Britney is making in the community… looks like her toxic days are over!!
