After 23 years of Bruce Springsteen supporting the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, which has included granting proceeds from concerts and encouraging fans to bring food donations to shows, Bruce is now raising the bar a bit further by appearing in a newspaper ad for the food bank.

"We Can't Let This Bank Fail!" the ad will read. This will be the first time Bruce will lend his image to the anti-hunger campaign.

And his positive image will be much needed, because the Community Food Bank--which aids charities serving half a million people annually--says that our suffering economy has led to a 30 percent increase in those needing food, and can even lead to the rationing of supplies for the first time in its 26-year history.

So here's to hoping Bruce's face will put an end to American hunger!! (or at least raise enough awareness to feed a few more mouths that otherwise would have gone hungry....)
