Borat's Sacha Baron Cohen strikes again!

While Borat was out urging Americans to not vote...Not!, another one of Sacha Baron Cohen's personalities, marched with supporters in favor of passing Proposition 8 near Los Angeles City Hall yesterday for his upcoming film Bruno. (An ultra-stylish Austrian, the character originated from the comedian's British TV hit Da Ali G Show). Sacha hopes Bruno will follow in Borat's mega-successful box office footsteps.

If the measure passes tomorrow in California, it would overturn that state's legalization of gay marriage. Currently polls are projecting a photo-finish on this divisive and emotional issue.

Rumor has it that Cohen, dressed for the rally in seriously preppy attire, was playing a new character, Straight Dave, a gay man who is trying to hide his sexuality by living an ultra-straight lifestyle.

Sacha carried a homemade sign that read in challenged English: ". . .even zough zey're nice." (Did the beginning say something along the lines of "Gay people shouldn't be married . . ."? Guess we'll have to wait for the movie or the DVD extras.)

This much CGG knows for sure: Sacha's scheme didn't go unnoticed for long: When reporters realized who he was, his film crew shielded him from questions and then helped him to flee the scene.

While many doubted that the British comedian would be able to fool the American public a second time, Sacha has been shooting the film in the same sneak-attack style as Borat -- and succeeding. We can't wait for the results!
