Carrie Underwood gives animals a Home Sweet Home

via chewingthecud.org
Carrie Underwood is clearly an angel from country singing heaven. Her new country hit Home Sweet Home, a remake from the group Motley Crue, may be bad news for some people, but it is good for animals!
The song was recorded for American Idol and will play each week someone gets voted off. But Carrie has found a way to make this goodbye anthem more positive
Each time someone buys the song off of iTunes, a portion of the money will go to the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), one of the nation’s largest and most effective animal protection organizations.
“I’ve always loved this song,” says Carrie, “and besides being very fitting for Idol, to me, the title is also very fitting with animal rescue and finding animals their own homes. So, we felt it was important to tie the release into an amazing animal charity like the HSUS.”
But some people are not so keen on the Idol’s decision. The U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance, a lobbying and hunter’s rights group, is urging hunters across America to contact executives at FOX Broadcasting and “demand that Underwood’s song not be given a stage to raise money for HSUS.”
Do you think this will actually affect the plan for Carrie’s song? What do you think Carrie Underwood should do about it? Are you going to go buy the song (its on iTunes March 16th)??? Comment below!

People are mistaking what HSUS really does. They are a group that has nothing to do with animal shelters. While Carrie is for animal rights what she doesnt know is that HSUS is an anti-agriculture/anti-hunting organization. Carrie was born in Oklahoma in a small community and even her family are farmers. HSUS would like to see an end to raising livestock on farms. She is more or less donating money to an organization that one of their goals is to put hardworking american farmers like her family out of business. With a name like Humane Society of the United States you would think they are for animals in shelters but however they want to see animal shelters with a 72 hour policy where if a dog or cat is not adopted it be put to sleep. I would like to see Carrie do some digging on the HSUS and see them for what they really are and find a better organization to affiliate with or to use the money to open an animal shelter.
