On June 10th, thousands of Country music fans joined together for the 19th Annual "City of Hope Celebrity Softball Challenge" in Nashville, Tennessee. Who doesn’t love watching your favorite celebs make fools of themselves on the field?

Carrie Underwood was one of the many country stars who geared up and played hard to help to raise awareness about “City of Hope”’s life-saving mission and to kick-off the 2009 CMA Music Festival. Carrie was the all star of last year’s game—she was the only one to score a home run!

Last year’s celebrity challenge raised over $1.5 million for “City of Hope.” All the proceeds from the event go straight to the organization—a national cancer institute that conducts biomedical research, treatment, and education for cancer, diabetes, HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening diseases.

Want to get down and dirty for change this summer? Have your own fundraising game or concert or art show!
