CGG's Election '08 endorsements update!

One week left!!! And the stars are out in full force, standing behind their candidate of choice.

A couple of highlights from last weekend:

During Saturday Night Live, Coldplay performed a third (read: unrehearsed!) song on the fly, after learning that Amy Poehler was giving birth. That gave Chris Martin, another Brit rocker for Barack, the opportunity to give a shout-out for his homeboy. Rocking an "Obama" armband, Chris sang "Look at the stars. Look how they shine for you," before shouting "Barack Obama!" during his song "Yellow," from Coldplay's debut disc, Parachutes.

Meanwhile, Republican Elisabeth Hasselbeck from The View flew to Florida to support Sarah Palin, introducing the Veep nominee at a rally in Tampa. Elisabeth condemned the media for fixating on Sarah Palin's recent $150,000 clothing shopping on the GOP as "sexist."

And while the impartial Mario Lopez (afterall, he's a TV entertainment reporter) interviewed Barack Obama, Mario asked him about Jennifer Hudson, who has campaigned for the Dems. Barack said he is devastated and is still trying to get the Oscar winner's number to personally offer his condolences.

Be sure to check out the candidates and their issues.

How is that sexist? The media was pointing at the fact that she is Joe the plumbess and then all of a sudden she spends $150,000 in just a few months. That's absurd! Especially during this financial situation. She should be setting an example.

I think spending ridiculous amounts of money on her wardrobe IS an issue. It shows where the campaign's priorities lie. . . and how much money had to be spent to fix her up. I wonder what the $ amt of money spent was in teaching Palin about the issues. I wouldn't be surprised if that passed the $150k mark.

i don't think it's sexist either. its an insane amount of money to spend on wardrobe. if mccain or obama had spent an obscene amount of money on hm... lets say, steak dinners, the media would be obviously upset about that too. it's not the fact that its skirt suits, its the fact that its too much money on something so trivial.

Sarah Palin claims that she was just thrown into this whole clothing thing, that it was all the advisers around her who bought the clothes and put her in them.... which is supposed to mean that she ISN'T contradicting her whole folksy, joe 6 pack thing....

It seems to me that she is ALREADY acting the puppet for these people behind the scenes, playing dress up for them... isn't this exactly what the last 8 years were about?? I mean, come on!

did you see what else the RNC spent money on? Millions of dollars on chocolate elephants, elephant wine glasses for big donors, elephant-shaped shrubbery. I wonder if went Joe Plumber makes a $50 donation of his hard-earned money, if he know where it is going. And he's not going to get any chocolate elephants.
