Charity work is all but alien for Stephanie Meyer

We all know her as the creator of Edward Cullen (thank you!!), but Stephanie Meyer’s newest project is a bit more alien… in a good way, of course!

What you might not know is that, in addition to writing Twilight, Meyer is the author of "The Host," a science fiction novel in which alien parasites attempt to take over human kind.  And she can now add clothing designer to her resume because she has teamed up with the Hobo Skate Company to create a new line of alien-themed clothing!

This past March, the Hobo Skate Company started up the Hobo Foundation, which helps provide financial resources as well as other provisions to the homeless.  For every item that the skate company sells, it donates 5% of its profits to the Foundation!  Which means that once Meyer’s awesome alien gear comes out and Twilight fanpires flock to the stores to buy it, they’ll look great and be helping out the homeless!

Prior to signing onto the clothing line project, Meyer worked with the organization to design an exclusive "The Host" skateboard, which was sold at a cancer charity auction. The selling price? $1,500!

We give Meyer major props for using her success as a writer for good, and we know that we’ll be buying the new designs when they hit major retailers soon!  Be a good little fanpire and help Stephanie's cause by learning more about homelessness. Then spread the word to your family and friends!
