Cindy Crawford may be drop-dead gorgeous, but she’s also drop-dead serious about cancer research as well. Which is why she has been donating time and money to the University of Wisconsin Pediatric Oncology Program for nearly 20 years, according to the Associated Press.

Her dedication to cancer research follows Crawford’s own personal experiences with cancer after her younger brother- who was a patient at UW Children’s Hospital- died of leukemia in 1975 soon after his fourth birthday.

Now, in her latest attempt to combat cancer, Crawford (who is the honorary chair of Kids with Courage) recently made several appearances in Madison, Wis., to raise awareness for pediatric cancer. The organization just celebrated its fourth reunion of childhood cancer survivors on July 5 in Madison; with Crawford also being a part of the three previous reunions as well.
