Today is the grand opening of New York City’s park in the sky. “High Line Park” has been a work in progress for a long time and would not have been possible if it weren’t for the generous contributions of eco-celebs like Edward Norton, Steve Carell, Kevin Bacon, Harvey Keitel, Glenn Close and designer Diane von Furstenberg.
This isn’t just any park people. The space was once a raised railway that had been abandoned for years and it’s been converted into an elevated park. For those of you who don’t think there is enough green space in concrete covered cities—we suggest checking out this mile-and-a-half-long park that runs through Manhattan’s West Side.
What do you think about “High Line Park”? Do you agree that creating green spaces in cities is a positive thing for city dwellers' mental health? Why do you think we need green spaces? Or do you think it just doesn’t cut it as far as time spent outdoors? Tell us what you think—comment below!
