Colin Firth’s new hot wheels

What’s the latest celebrity toy? We'll give you a hint: it's been dubbed "the greenest thing on two wheels." It’s the new “Calfee” bamboo bike sold at actor Colin Firth’s Eco Store in Cheswick, England. Colin’s store is a full-service location where people can find inspiration, ideas, advice, and products for green living.

Their latest product is this new organic, biodegradable bike made from 60% sustainable materials! Everything down to the process of making it is pretty green. The people that harvest the bamboo for the frame are also involved in a social project helping local people who come from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Too bad eco-friendly, labor-friendly bikes come at such a high price! One bike is $5,000!!! You can still follow Colin Firth’s progressive lead by buying a bike. It doesn’t have to be made from bamboo—if you buy a recycled or used bike you’re still being green!

What do you think of Colin’s green store and their latest product? Is it ridiculous to expect people to go green at such a high price? Or is the bike a good example of how we could be living in the future? And is it really “eco-friendly” if the materials aren’t local (the bamboo does come from Taiwan)? Comment below!
