Cynthia Nixon: getting married and saving the world!

Sex and the City’s fiery redhead Cynthia Nixon may be engaged to be married to her partner of five years, AND filming the Sex and the City Movie sequel...but she’s not too busy with wedding plans and general stardom to forget about giving back!

For the second year, she is the spokeswoman for Curél’s "Share the Gift of Caring" campaign to benefit the American Red Cross' initiative. Curél has donated $250,000 to the cause and has also allocated $10,000 more for visitors who log on to their website and donate in the name of a loved one. Cynthia has planned the perfect charitable present for her bride-to-be!

The money will benefit the American Red Cross’s work towards helping people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. 2008 was one of the most devastating years in history as natural disasters took over 220,000 lives.
