The Do Something Awards, Vh1 and DoSomething.org's awards show that honors amazing people contributing to social change, are only a few weeks away, and some A-list talent has signed on to perform at the charitable event!
Demi Lovato, A-list singer/actress and advocate for mental health issues, will perform her single "Skycraper" for the first time on television. Demi's fans played a big part in encouraging the performance, tweeting the word "Skyscraper" to DoSomething.org's Twitter account multiple times. But Demi's popular song isn't the only reason she'll be attending— the star has earned two nominations—Do Something Charity Song and Do Something TV Star.
The show will also feature performances by OneRepublic with B.o.B and Foster the People, the popular band best known for their chart-topping song "Pumped Up Kicks."
And while there's no guarantee she'll sing or dance, audiences are sure to be entertained by the night's host Jane Lynch (a.k.a. hysterical Sue Sylvester from GLEE).
Fans can vote now for Demi and dozens of other celebs nominated for the Do Something Awards, plus you'll be able to vote for your favorite inspiring young person to receive $100,000. Audiences can then tune in August 18, 2011 at 9PM EST on Vh1 (and tweet about it with hashtag #dsawards) to see who takes that coveted silver shoe!
