Just weeks after the plane crash which killed four, and left DJ AM and Travis Barker with severe burns, AM, aka Adam Goldstein, opened up to People about what may have saved his life.

After escaping through the emergency door exit with Barker, he says he "tried to cover my face as I jumped through a fireball. As soon as I hit the ground, I remembered, 'Stop, drop and roll.' So I started rolling." The advice he remembered from childhood fire safety classes helped save his life. He's still recovering from second and third-degree burns, taking it one step at a time.

What have you learned from fire safety classes? Would you know what to do in a dangerous situation?

And be sure to check out fire safety tips and how to prepare and emergency kit.

Fire safety is SO important! I know two people who lost a friend in house fires in the last year. It's such a tragedy and knowing your stuff is crucial to surviving these unexpected scares.

I feel most awful for the people who didn't survive. They were sitting in front of Travis and AM and experts say that's the only reason they survived. So sad.

Wow, I never really took those safety tips seriously. Talk about a wake up call!
