On Thursday Septemebr 10, the lovely Eva Longoria will be hosting the Ninth Annual Fund-Raising Gala, "El Sueño De Esperanz" for Padres Contra el Cancer. The event will take place at the Historic Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood.
The TV housewife is taking care of the kids both on and off the screen. She is the National Spokesperson for Padres Contra el Cancer-- a parents against cancer association that raises money for Latino children with cancer. They work to promote a comprehensive understanding of childhood cancer and effective methods for treatment.
While the event may not be until the fall, Eva is already excited for it: "This celebration is such an inspiring experience not only for me, but for the many friends who share in the joy and the passion of Padres' life - saving mission. I consider the opportunity to serve as a voice for these children and their families as one of my life's greatest blessings."
Considering over 70% of all children undergoing treatment for cancer at the Children’s Hospital in LA are Latino it is clear that Padres efforts are needed. Eva endorses many other Latin American charities like the Palomita Education Fund which also serves the Latino community in Southern California—Eva’s hometown.
Jump the gun on the fund-raising gala and get involved with the cancer cause today! Cheer up a child by sending get well cards to your local hospital or do like Johnny Depp and put on a night of entertainment for children with cancer in your local hospital.
