A newly redheaded Evan Rachel Wood revealed her new hairdo at the Gotham Independent Film Awards this week. Her upcoming film The Wrestler, where she plays Mickey Rourke's estranged daughter, comes out December 17th.

The gorgeous starlet has been chastised frequently in the press for her personal life, from dating Marilyn Manson to false rumors that she was dating her co-star Mickey Rourke.

We wanted to give her a chance to speak back to the press. "I know who I am, and that's good enough for me," she says. "I’ve got great loving people around me, and it’s got nothing to do with my job or my art or how I express myself. It’s nobody’s business but my own. So think what you want; if you don’t know me, you don’t know."

And what advice does Evan Rachel have for kids who may be going through hurtful rumors? "No matter how you say or expect you’re going to deal with it, it still hurts. Everybody gets hurt. And I’ve just learned that as long as you know yourself and love yourself, you’ll be fine."
