Fashion alert: Celebs flaunt faux fur
It just may be the newest red carpet trend! The stars flocked to a party at “The Eldridge” pop-up on January 22 during the Sundance Film Festival to party in style and stand behind some animal-friendly causes, like the wearing of faux fur instead of the real deal. Lifehouse, Noureen Dewulf, David Blue, Heather Kafka, and Thomas Ian Nicholas (of American Pie fame) came together to host Caravan’s “Go Faux Fur” event for the Humane Society of the U.S. (HSUS).
Any guests who arrived at the party sporting genuine fur were asked to drop it off at the door. A short film made specifically for the event was shown to encourage people to wear faux fur. HSUS also teamed up with Facebook.com, which posted a video of Malin Akerman stopping by to talk about the Shelter Pet Project to promote pet adoption.
Caravan, an NYC-based boutique, recently launched a collection featuring jackets and vests especially designed for the HSUS campaign, proof that you can rock the same style, but no animal cruelty necessary!
Check out the video that was shown at the event!
