How do the Obamas celebrate Easter? With the annual Easter Egg Roll--only this year, there were some twists including yoga, dancing, guacamole, and Fergie! Count on Barack and Michelle Obama to make the best Easter celebration the country has ever seen.
Michelle Obama spiced up this year’s activities by changing the theme to “Let’s Go Play.” She wanted to focus the event on the active growth of young people—promoting nutritious food, physical exercise and healthy living.
Fergie brought the house down—the White House that is—with her own rendition of the national anthem and a few of her singles. She got a big hug from the President (jealous!) and got to hang out with the first family, calling the whole event, "one of the most amazing moments of my life."
The black-eyed princess performed for 30,000 of the Obama’s closest friends. This year’s event was made more accessible to the public than ever before. "This reminds us that this is the people's house,” Obama said in his speech. The Obamas utilized the power of the internet to distribute tickets online. They even had a live video on the White House Web site!
What do you think of this year’s Easter bash? Do you think they can top it next year? Who will be the next celeb to shine at the White House? Comment below!
And you can help Michelle Obama’s cause by making your own brochures and posters on healthy living and distributing them around your school.
